William Jackson Hamilton Sr., U.S. Air Force Veteran, age 85, of Williamsburg, Ohio, passed away on Thursday February 5, 2026 in Batavia, OH. At his granddaughter and husband Bill's residence with family visiting throughout the day, along with the amazing care from staff at Care360 Hospice at his bedside.
He was born on October 27, 1940, in Indianapolis, IN, son of George Lee and Elise Mae Hamilton.
Bill worked as an Auto Mechanic then move to work at Tren Tech as an Electronic engineer where he retired early to care for his wife battling dementia. He enjoyed gardening, On his free time he spent playing golf and fishing. After retiring his wife and him enjoyed 10 wonderful cruises with lifelong friends. From Felicity, Ohio. Then during the later years he enjoyed relaxing and watching every episode possible of the Price is Right.
He served in the Air Force for two tours as Staff Sergeant. Served as the county commissioner for the veterans' administration. Also was a member of the American Legion for 61yrs
Bill was a father to Debra Campbell, Kathy (Chris) Weinstock, Michael Hoffman, William (Tonya nee Butts) Hamilton Jr., Norman (the late Jodi nee Zia) Hamilton and Ron (Tammy) Hamilton. Stepfather to the Jeannie (Brown) Back
Beloved grandfather to Kelly, Tyler, Cheyenne, Chandler, Rodney, Coby, Daphne, Brandon, and Emily.
Great- grandpa to Sheenah, Austin, Leslie, Phoenix, Finlee, and Weston
Great- great grandpa to Bodhi
Brother to George Lee Hamilton where William spent many years trying to reconnect
Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years to Georgia Ann Hamilton.
Services will be held at Maham Funeral Home, 187 North Second Street Williamsburg, Ohio 45176, Tuesday February 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Shawn Crisman from Care360 Hospice officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 NOON until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Williamsburg Cemetery, Williamsburg, Ohio.
Family and friends are invited to join for food and refreshments at the American Legion Post 288 following burial.
