Patrick Louis Mcnamara

MCNAMARA (Marine Corps Veteran) Patrick Louis McNamara, age 74, died peacefully on Friday, January 29th, 2021, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary (nee Stanley), his loving children Sean, Lagan, Andrew and Angie, siblings Edward McNamara, Kathleen Patton, Timothy (Rose) McNamara, Maureen (Glenn) Leppert Grothaus, Darlene McNamara, Dennis (Cindy) McNamara, grandsons Aaron and Seth as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Patrick was preceded in death by sister Patricia Donohue, brothers Thomas McNamara, Michael McNamara and infant sister Mary McNamara. Patrick was born March 19th, 1946, to Thelma Eula (nee Vinson) and Edward Robert McNamara in Cincinnati and grew up in Mt. Adams. He attended Holy Cross elementary school, Purcell High School, and The University of Cincinnati. Paddy was a family man, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, an avid outdoorsman, practical joker, master of ceremonies and all-around life of the party. Paddy and Mary hosted countless family gatherings in Williamsburg where memories were made; many a child learned to fish at Paddy’s pond. He was generous with his time and quick with a joke. Since he was a big kid himself, kids loved Uncle Paddy, as did every dog and cat in the neighborhood. Paddy led a team of surveyors for the city of Cincinnati, where he made lifelong friends. Wherever he went, he made friends; his dynamic, joyous personality, quick wit and warm heart drew people in like a magnet. If anyone needed a helping hand, Paddy was there without a second thought. He loved to dance; his hilarious choreography to “YMCA” at every family wedding is the stuff of legend. He is now dancing in Heaven, keeping the party going until we are all reunited. Mass of Christian burial and celebration of his life will be held at noon on Thursday, February 4th, 2021 at Saint Louis Church, 210 N. Broadway in Owensville, Ohio. A memorial will be held at a date to be announced.
