James E. Lefferson

LEFFERSON (U.S. Navy Veteran) Williamsburg – James E. Lefferson, beloved husband of Helen (nee Ashcraft) Lefferson. Devoted father of Karen (Ron) Chapman and Doug (Gretchen) Lefferson. Loving grandfather of Jon Chapman, Mike Chapman, Sara (Jason) Kilgore, Lauren (Brandon) Ballhaus, Emily (Trevor) Shouse. Great Grandfather of Sydney, Jake (Nicole), Justin, Nick, Ryker, Reagan, and Palmer. Preceded in death by his sister Virginia (Elton) Hutchinson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jim passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the age of 94. Jim was the son of Alma and Charles Lefferson. Jim graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1944, joined the Navy and served in WWII on the battleship USS Indiana. After returning home he had a 37 year career as a community banker. He married Helen in 1947 and they were married 73 years. Jim was a member of the Clermont Social #29 Masonic Lodge for 63 years serving as Treasurer for 30 years, the American Legion Post 288 for 74 years, Treasurer of the Salvation Army for 19 years, and was active in church and community groups including Rotary and the Harmony Hill Association. He enjoyed nature and hiking. Private services will be held at New Harmony United Methodist Church, Williamsburg, OH 45176. Maham Funeral Home serving the family.
