Hubert Dean Milton

Hubert (Dean) Milton Sr, age 94, of Williamsburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 16, 2022 after 2 years of declining health. Dean was born July 3, 1928 in Washington, Indiana to his parents Charles and Delca Milton. He later married his longtime friend and love , Barbara Jean (Fleener) and were married for 73 years 5 months until her death in May 2020. The wedding day was December 23, 1946.

Dean as a teenager, worked after school and weekends. He worked at the family Ice Plant where he met Barbara when she would come to buy snow cones. He enlisted in the Navy on December 5, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana. His home was a submarine for a while. Then he was stationed in Connecticut and was joined with his wife Barbara. They moved to Ohio around 1952 where he started working for Williamson Heating & Cooling. He was the one that designed those hard jobs to be installed. He was their main Engineer. After retiring from there, he opened up his own business. “H.D. Milton & Son”. The business was, and still is successful.

Dean enjoyed painting, playing the drums and basketball while young. When he got older, he loved and enjoyed family, giving, working, gardening, mowing grass and watching late night TV with his wife.

After Barbara’s death, all he wanted, was to be reunited with her.

Dean is survived by his four children: Charlene Towler, Sonny Milton (Linda), Pattie Gilpin-Fisk (Lew) and Jeffery Milton (Kathy), 13 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Delca Milton, by his wife Barbara (Fleener) Milton, son Robert S. Milton, grandsons Dennis P. Gilpin II and Matthew P. Milton, 5 brothers: Marian, Charles, Wayne, Neal and Harold Milton, 2 sisters: Blanche Massie and Margie Kelsey (Milton), 1 daughter-in-law Lois Milton and 2 son-in-laws: Roger Cooper and Jerry Eaton.

Please join us in Celebrating Dean’s life on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Maham Funeral Home, 187 North Second Street, Williamsburg, Ohio 45176. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at 11am. Military Honors will be held graveside following the service at the funeral home.
