Hazel Marie Creager

CREAGER Hazel Marie (nee Gosey), age 97, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, beloved wife of 63 years to the late William “Bill” Foster Creager Sr. She is survived by her son Michael (Darlene) Creager, daughters Barbara (Mark) Riffle, Kim Wilver, Lisa (Jeff) Donatini, daughter in law Terri Creager and preceded in death by her son William Foster Creager II, cherished grandmother of Tracy, Kristine, Cristin, Bret, Katie, Brenen, Brian, Caitlin, Patrick, Adam, Nicholas, Kevin, Amanda, Danny and great grandchildren Lee, Ashley, Alex, Peyton, Parker and Owen. Hazel was born June 5, 1919, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late William Franklin and Maude Ann (nee Cruse) Gosey. She lost her father when only 4 and was raised with her twin sister, Marion Croswell and a younger brother George Gosey by her mother and grandmother. She graduated from Hughes High School in 1937 and attended the University of Cincinnati. She married the love of her life William (Bill) F. Creager August 10, 1942. During WWII, she moved to Los Angeles, Calif. and worked as an executive secretary at Hughes Aircraft Company. Hazel and Bill made Montgomery Ohio their home in the early 50’s where they raised their five children. In the fall of 1952, Hazel helped form and was the first President of the Montgomery Women’s Club. Hazel was a member of the Montgomery Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. She began working at the CM Paula Company in the early sixties and was the executive secretary to the company’s president for over 45 years. Hazel had the familial gift of gab and a genuine interest in people, filling her life with the joys, concerns and on goings of her many friends and family whom she held dear. She read the Cincinnati Enquirer cover to cover each morning for most her life, enjoyed art, bridge, and most of all she adored her husband Bill and cherished the time they spent together from errands to their world travels.
