Elza Steward Jr.

Elza Steward Jr., age 87, of Williamsburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories with those who loved him. Elza was the loving father of Debbie (Bob) Braun, Lisa (Bob) Bramlage, and Angie (Rick) Knuckles. He was a proud grandfather of five grandchildren: Christy (Kurt) Bovard, Alex (Michelle) Ross, Andrea (Brendan) O’Gorman, Justin Bramlage, and Joey Bramlage. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Oliver and Amelia Bovard and Darlene O’Gorman. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Butler; his beloved wife, Darlene Steward; and his two longtime companions, Pat Schmidt and Homyen Moore. Elza was the son of the late Elza and Mildred Steward. He is survived by his siblings, Ora Steward, Larry Steward, and Shirley Fink. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wilbur Steward. Elza proudly dedicated 40 years of his working life to Cincinnati Milacron, where he built a long and respected career. Outside of work, Elza enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life special. He loved gardening, working on his cars, and spending time at casinos, where he enjoyed having fun and trying his luck. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved cats, TJ and Mia Tia, who provided him with companionship and brought him great joy. Elza will be remembered for the life he built, the people he loved, his independent spirit, and the many memories he created with his family and friends. Though he will be deeply missed, his love and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest peacefully, surrounded by the love of those whose lives he touched.

Services will be held at the Maham Funeral Home, 187 N. Second St, Williamsburg, Ohio, on Thursday, Aug 20, 2026 at 12:30pm. Interment will follow at Bloomrose Cemetery, Williamsburg, Ohio. Immediately after the service, family & friends will gather at Bloomrose Hall 16894 Bloomrose Rd, Williamsburg, Ohio.

Family & Friends will be received on Thursday at the funeral home from 11am until the time of services.
