Doug Wood of Williamsburg, Ohio passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on September 13, 2026, at the age of 83.

Doug was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was an anchor for his family, someone who could always be counted on and who was generous with his time. He taught his children the value of a strong work ethic not through words alone, but by the example he lived every day. He was always willing to lend a hand, especially when it came to helping with home projects and his steady presence and willing to help will be deeply miss.

Doug spent his career working in construction and eventually retired from the Jurgenson Company. He also built houses for many years. He took great pride in his work and doing things the right way.

Outside of work, Doug enjoyed going to car shows and restoring older model cars. His love of classic automobiles gave him many hours of enjoyment and provided a lasting reflection of his patience, craftmanship and appreciation for the past.

Doug is survived by his sister, Teresa Wilson and sister-in-law Peggy Wood; his sons, Kurt (Lori) Wood, Keith and Kris (Carrie) Wood; his grandchildren, Lori Jo, Kacie, Chelsea and Ryan Wood; his great-grandchildren, Collin and Aiden Greene and Elliot Wood; his great-great-grandchild, Cade and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron "Bud" and Lois Wood; his wife of 60 years, Lynda Wood; brother Lloyd (Jackie) Wood and nephew, Shawn Wilson.

Doug leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, quiet strength and love for his family. He will be remembered not only for all he did but for the dependable and caring presence he was in the lives of those who loved him.

Services will be held at the Maham Funeral Home 187 North Second Street, Williamsburg, Ohio 45176 on Thursday September 17, 2026, 11:00 A:M until time of service 1:00 P:M at the funeral home.
