Donald Gene Gatch

GATCH (US Army Veteran) Donald Gene "Donnie", age 89, was born February 24, 1930 and passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 with his family by his side at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Jean Gatch (nee Hamm) of 62 years, loving father of Mark (Elaine) Gatch, Pam (Rob) Burwinkel, Pat Docter, Julie (Tom) Bickett, cherished grandfather of Emily (Bill) Blair, Erin Gatch, Cara Gatch, Austin Bickett, Jason Coon, Lindsey Bickett, Brandon (Maggie) Coon Kelly Gatch, Lauren (Dallas) Miracle, also survived by 9 great-grandchildren. Donnie joined the Army in 1953 and served in the Korean War. He started his career as a teamster truck driver and ended his career as a tour bus driver for Croswell Bus Lines. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 288. He enjoyed playing softball till the ripe old age of 70. He loved gardening, fishing, car racing, antique cars and cheering on the 84 race team. He was passionate in coaching and attending his children's and grandchildren's events. Services will be held at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 330 Gay Street, Williamsburg, Ohio on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 12pm. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at the church.
