David Lee Stephens, age 87, of Batavia, Ohio, passed away on July 4, 2026in Batavia, OH.
Born on November 4, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, David was the son of the late Earl and Bernice (Scott) Stephens. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal friend whose kindness and steady presence touched many lives.
David dedicated many years of service to Metro, where he was highly respected for his work in the body shop. One of his proudest professional accomplishments was overseeing the rebuild of an original Cincinnati streetcar, helping preserve an important piece of the city's history.
He is survived by son, David Roy Stephens of Mason, OH; his grandchildren Kelly Isaacs, Ryan Stephens and Erin Stephens; his great-grandchildren Ava Isaacs, Aubree Isaacs and Ryan Stephens Jr.; his cousins, Jake Scott, Alicen Hoefer and Nick Scott; and friends who became family, including his honorary granddaughter, Kirstyn Turner of Lebanon, Tennessee, her husband, Jenner and their son, Ryker, as well as his longtime friend, Christina Blair.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Stephens; parents, Earl and Bernice (Scott) Stephans; and his brothers, Earl Stephens Jr. and Richard "Dick" Stephens.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate David's life on Monday July 13, 2026, at Maham Funeral Home, 187 North Second Street, Williamsburg, Ohio 45176. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 am. Officiating will be Preacher Jack Horton. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Union Twp., Ohio.
David will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the lasting friendships he built throughout his life. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
