FOX (Navy Veteran) Clarence Clemis Fox (known as Clemis) passed away March 21, 2022. Clemis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years (Margaret Kate Fox). He is survived by his 6 children: Rex, Kim (Teri), Mark, Sue, Leta and Lee Ann, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild. Clemis joined the Navy in 1943 and was in Officer’s Training School when he was discharged in 1946 (Second Class Midshipman). After being discharged from the Navy, he attended the University of Kentucky and received his B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Civil and Structural Engineering. Later in life he got a M.S. Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University. Clemis worked for several companies including the State of Kentucky Bridge Department, U.S. Steel, Portland Cement, and Tabasco Prestressed Concrete. He was well known for concrete design and served as President of Ohio Prestressed Concrete Association. Clemis created the Fox Engineering LLC and worked as a private consultant for 40 years and only stopped working as a Professional Engineer after he turned 90. In his spare time, he operated several farm tracks (soybeans, hay, cattle, tobacco and strawberries) and was still managing some of those farm tracks until his death. Clemis served as a Williamsburg Rotarian for 40 years. Apart from his work, billiards was his passion and he competed locally, nationally and even internationally in tournaments. Services will be held at the Maham Funeral Home, 187 North Second Street, Williamsburg, Ohio on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00am. Visitation will be held from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
