Carl E. Tarvin, age 95, passed away peacefully in his Williamsburg home on May 19, 2022. Born on February 3, 1927, he spent his youth in Batavia and other nearby areas of Clermont County before joining the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy, he joined the Cincinnati Milling Machine Company in 1948, testing and installing many types of machine tools as part of the company’s special machine division. His work with the company that would become Milacron continued for 45 more years, taking him around the world to support equipment installation and design for the aviation industry. Carl spent his retirement enjoying his time gardening, researching the Tarvin family genealogy, and studying U.S. and regional history. He was recently awarded a 70 year Masonic pin with The Grand Lodge of Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dolores M. Tarvin, their sons Dan (Shelley Drinnen) and Kim (Darla), four grandchildren—Dawn Baumgartner, Scott Tarvin, Zach Tarvin, Kyle Tarvin (Eva )—a great grandchild, and his brother Don Tarvin. He is preceded in death by grandson, Ryan Tarvin, and three siblings. There will be a Masonic and Scottish Rite Ring Service starting at 11am prior to the service.
