Barbara Jean Milton, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on May 19, 2020. She was born November 13, 1928, in Bloomington, Indiana. She married her longtime friend and love, Hubert Dean Milton Sr., 73 years ago, in December of 1946. Barbara was a strong woman that loved with her heart and never held back. She was a caring soul that had an aura of peace surrounding her that you felt whenever you were in her presence. She was a woman of great faith and lived her life after her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." She left her faith as a legacy to her family and friends by not only telling her lessons in life, but also by her everyday actions of always being kind, patient, generous, willing to listen, comforting, and showing unconditional love towards everyone. Family and friends were very important to her, and one of the many ways she showed love was cooking. Growing up when she wasn't taking the children fishing, she was cooking up meals for the family to enjoy together where many memories were created. She never stopped cooking even after all her children moved out. She continued to cook lunch every day for her sons and grandsons to enjoy together, and this is something she looked forward to daily. Throughout her life, she loved to travel. She enjoyed getting out, listening to music, going to the theater, and spending time with friends & family. She celebrated everyone's birthdays, and always made sure every holiday was special. She's having a reunion with family & friends she hasn't seen for a long time. No more pain nor suffering. We are handing our trophy back to Jesus where she'll receive a crown. She’ll be missed by many. She retired from the Milacron and later worked for Hospice. She volunteered at Clermont Mercy Hospital. Barbara is survived by her loving husband Dean Milton, and four children, Charlene Towler, Sonny Milton (Linda), Pattie Gilpin-Fisk (Lew), Jeffrey Milton (Kathy). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and two sister’s Nancy Elmore-Price (Washington, Indiana) and Polly Eads Hurd (Bloomington, Indiana). She is preceded in death by parents Milford and Arella (Fleener) Elmore and Austin Eads. Children; Steven Milton, grandchildren; Dennis Gilpin II, Matthew P. Milton, brothers; Dickie J. Elmore, Jack L. Elmore and daughter in law Louis Milton (Sonny's first Wife), son in law Jerry Eaton (Patty"s husband) and son in law Roger Cooper (Charlene first husband).
