Aileen Spencer Fronsoe, age 95, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026.
She was born on October 31, 1930, in Perry County, Kentucky. Her parents were Elmer Boggs and Vertie Spencer. She grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, and later spent her adult life living in Batavia and Williamsburg, Ohio.
Aileen loved her family above all else. She enjoyed good food, watching WWE wrestling, seeing UK basketball games, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, and going to yard sales—especially when she found a good bargain. She was quick to laugh, curious about the lives of those she loved, and never missed a chance to say “I love you.”
She is survived by four of her six children: Doris (Mike) Sponsler, Charlotte Davis, Elmer Moore, and Melvin Moore. She is also survived by one sister, Lorene Lickliter.
She was preceded in death by two children, Robert “Robbie” Moore and Mable “Sissie” Moore; one grandchild, Felicia Vasquez; 5 siblings, Georgia Cox, Geraldine Saunders, E.B. Spencer, Lenora Moreland, and Marilyn Howard; and her beloved life partner, William “Bill” Crouch.
Aileen was a proud grandmother to fourteen grandchildren: Angie (Chris) Wells, Adam Brookshire, Brandy (Rob) Rucker, James Moore, Candice Moore, Robert Moore, Jeremy (Toni) Carter, Beau Davis, Travis Moore, Chris Moore, Sondra Moore, Brittany Kannapel, and Westin Moore, along with many great and great-great grandchildren.
She is also remembered for her close friendship with Ruth Richmond.
