Obituary for Judith Ann Walker

Judith Ann Walker, age 78, passed from this life on July 3, 2020 at her home in Batavia, Ohio. She was born January 10, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Paul E. and Elizabeth (Dixon) Kuhn and lived her young life in Greenhills, Ohio. Judy married Lawrence Walker on January 22, 1966, and shortly thereafter moved to her husband’s hometown of Batavia, where he began the practice of law with his father’s firm.

Judy is survived by her husband, sons Christopher L. Walker (Leanne Pasley) of Bend, Oregon and Brian M. Walker (Julie Detweiler) of Plain City, Ohio, grandchildren Morgan T. Walker, Emily D. Walker, Braden M. Walker, and Sheraya Headings, great-grandchildren Jayden, Grayson and Oakley Walker, and caregiver and companion Michele Collins, who was a blessing to Judy during her last years. Judy is also survived by her sister Nancy Rakel of Killeen, Texas, with whom she spoke by telephone every week, her brother James Kuhn of Fairfield, Ohio, sister-in-law Judith Walker and brothers-in-law Donald B. Walker (Corinne), William Walker (Gayle), and John Walker (Kay), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her younger sister Jeannine Jennings and brother Paul E. Kuhn, Jr.

Judy was an extraordinary wife, mother, sister and homemaker, and equally amazing as a caterer, decorator, companion, friend, volunteer, producer and leader of events, and a servant of God. She loved everyone. It should surprise no one that she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.

With her bubbly personality, organizational abilities, creative ideas, work ethic, and love of people, Judy was attracted to working with many churches, schools, civic organizations, charities, and leaders of government and business. She was a natural in working with and leading large numbers of people to support causes, fundraise, celebrate accomplishments, enjoy life, and appreciate each other. She was recognized for her outstanding community service by Clermont Senior Services, Clermont Mercy Hospital, United Way for Eastern Area, Greenhills High School Hall of Fame, Ohio School Superintendents Association, the Ohio House and Senate, Batavia Village, Batavia Township, Clermont County, and many others.

In death, it may be noted that she died at home due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease, but in truth she had given everything of herself, and so quietly, completely spent, she eagerly fell into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ.

Her life will be celebrated by family at a private service and at a public gathering to honor her life at a time and place to be determined. Remembrances may be directed to the Montgomery Community Church, Faith Evangelical Free Church of Milford, the Batavia First United Methodist Church, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
